Support for our rescue services

The Hare and Hounds at Westgate in Weardale and it's customers appreciate the vital and courageous  work done by the men and women of our local rescue services. Especially the Great North Air  Ambulance and the Teasdale and Weardale  search and Mountain Rescue Team
The collecting boxes in the bar get very full. The Air Ambulance bow was so full recently that not a single penny could fit in. When it was emptied I had the grand sum of £63.97.

An update on the money raised for the Movember Charity. The customers raised a grand total of to date £612.00.

The bottom 8 Darts final 3rd May.

The hare and hounds darts team spent this season mainly second from the bottom of the Weardale Winmau League. Despite our position in the table, individuals have been mentioned favourably in the local press during this season for their finishes and 180s.

The team got to the finals of the bottom 8 cup, played at the Wolsingham club 3rd. May. We came second. Never mind, must do better next year.

Late news (History now)

Westgate associated sea angling club, were out in force in late April. They hired the community bus for trip to Bishop Auckland food festival . No fish were eaten on this occasion, but a lot of fine beers were sampled at the beer festival.
