A good year

As 2013 comes to an end it's an opportunity to look back on the last year and look forward to the next.

Westgate clock appeal, Movember, and the Graham Pears Memorial Pool tournament raised an a huge amount of money.

During the last months of the year the whole village did a remarkable job raising funds for the Westgate Memorial Clock appeal and local charities.  For the repair of the clock £14966.27 was raised with a target amount of £15664.80 leaving a shortfall of £698.53. The Parish Council has agreed to cover. By the end of February 2014 the clock will be repaired and reinstalled in the centre of our village.
Westgate Village Hall Management  Committee would like to thank everybody who was involved in the fundraising for this appeal.

Movember and the Graham Pears Pool tournament  were  Hare and Hounds  activities. Both events were organised by Carlos Graham and once again he managed to motivate people to have fun and raise much needed money for the Movember charity, raising awareness of men's health. This year the Hare and Hounds Mo Bros and Mo sisters raised a record amount of £825.00 by a combination of growing moustaches, making sculpture and remaining silent.

The Graham Pears Pool Tournament was ever was a great success. This year it was won again by Daz Fletcher, his second win. One this occasion the final was contested by Daz and Jammie Emerson. The total raised was £336 which will be shared by local charities.
